Creating content is the way to jump start your online business and change the way you do things forever. Think about the type of business you are trying to build, the lifestyle you want to create, and how you will begin the process of creating massive amount of content on a regular basis.

When I came online in 2006 I soon realized that I would need to start writing in order to build a business that would replace any job I would ever have again. I had always wanted to be a writer, but was discouraged from doing this by several teachers and others in my life. Instead I became a classroom teacher, and ended up editing the writing of students of all ages for the twenty years I worked in the schools.

Here I was on the Internet, and I reached back to the advice I had given my own students over the years when they struggled with their writing. I told them to write every single day, seven days a week, even during school vacations, even if it was only a paragraph. I told them that their writing would improve and that they would also get into the habit of writing if they did this on a regular basis. It worked, and many of my students went on to achieve great success in their studies and chosen fields.

By writing each day you get your thoughts and ideas out so that you can edit them and repurpose this writing into a variety of different formats. Make sure to stay on topic so that everything will help to build your business in the future. I like to start with a blog post or an article for the directories, and then begin repurposing right away into short reports, e-courses, eBooks, teleseminars, podcasts, videos, paperback books on Amazon, digital books on Kindle and Nook, and online courses. This will create your marketing funnel very quickly, and give you the opportunity to move forward in a big way.

Content creation, done in a well thought out and strategic way, can serve to grow your list, increase your credibility, and earn you money for years to come. Make an outline of what you'd like to write about, and then flesh it out to have a viable plan. Even if you do not have experience as a writer or marketer this method will give you the impetus you need to change your business and your bottom line.
